Scope of work:
Construction of 14 Light Industrial Units

This 70 week project comprised of the construction of 14 light industrial units arranged over 3 vibrantly coloured blocks for our Client Bristol City Council.

Situated within a 5-minute car journey from our south Bristol office, the project was an ideal opportunity for our Client and ourselves to demonstrate the capabilities of both a local design team and our local suppliers of which we worked hard to include the best of Bristol in the design and construction of the works.

The works delivered are outstanding in quality and the project is set to achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating with its environmental credentials.

The project was challenging due to its location to a Film Studio situated next door.  This required us to stop works at various points in the construction process, which we accommodated with the support of our Client.

We actively engaged with the wider community and opened our doors to hold several site tours for stakeholders from local government and visitors.

Throughout the construction stage we employed 6 apprentices drawn from traditional vocational sectors such as cladding, scaffolding, plumbing we we also augmented newer roles within the industry.  The project was a vehicle for each individual to develop skills and gain valuable practical experience.

In addition to the direct economic benefit to the supply chain, we were also able to deliver important social value benefits by engaging the local charitable groups and education providers with volunteering days and attending events to provide curriculum support in local schools.
