Refurbishment of the existing building to provide enhanced teaching facilities.
Working together with the Department for Education and the end user this design and build contract comprised of an extensive refurbishment carried out in 2 phases.
Phase 1 included the construction of temporary accommodation comprising of 8 classrooms together with an administration and office block located on the existing playground. Works were undertaken during the summer break, in preparation for the School to move in and utilise the space for the new school year.
Phase 2 included the extensive refurbishment of the existing school teaching, administration, hall, dining and kitchen areas. Works included new roof coverings across all of the teaching block and hall and the replacement of curtain walling system, windows and doors. Internally redecoration of walls, ceiling finishes and new floor coverings were provided. New kitchen and WC facilities including washroom cubicles, vanity units and shelving completed the refurbishment.
