Newbridge Primary School

Key Facts

Value:
£200k
Sector:
Programme:
20 Weeks
Scope of work:
The construction of a new staff room and central meeting facility for this combined infants and primary school in Bath. Incorporating substantial sections of curtain walling and high performance insulation to the building fabric.

This small but complex scheme involved a high level of liaison with the project stakeholders as the school remained operational throughout the build period.

Works comprised of site strip, block and beam slab and load bearing blockwork walls with large steel sections supporting the flat roof. The blockwork was colour rendered and the external elevations were trespa clad. A high performance single play roof and tapered insulation completed a thermally efficient envelope.

The scheme incorporates new WC facilities, IT points, administration space, lockers and bespoke joinery.

The site footprint was extremely cramped and the careful sequencing and programming of activities was key to the success of the scheme.  Through good planning we were able to hand the project over on budget and 2 weeks ahead of the client programme.
